SUMMARY:Come and Meet Cookbook Author Luladay Moges
DESCRIPTION:March is women’s history month and we’re celebrating with a delicious book club event you’ll eat up. \nJoin us March 16 at lunch time in the Buena Vista Café to welcome culinarian Luladey “Lula” Moges\, author of Enebla\, Recipes From an Ethiopian Kitchen. \nShe will be collaborating with our chefs to create some of the unique recipes from the pages of her new cookbook. \nCopies of Enebla will be available to purchase at the discounted rate of $20 and Lula will be onsite to answer questions and sign your copy. \n  \n  \n  \nAbout Lula: \nBorn in Addis Ababa\, Luladey “Lula” Moges moved to the United States with her family at the age of 12 and learned the art of Ethiopian cuisine from her grandmother\, mother\, and aunts. Her busy career in hospitality was initially an obstacle to home-cooking—as many recipes require several hours to develop a full-bodied flavour—so she has spent years developing real-world recipes that deliver authentic\, mom-approved fare in an hour or less. Lula lives in Los Angeles and works as an International Sales & Conference Services Manager at Loews Hotels & Co. Enebla is her first cookbook.

DESCRIPTION:We are celebrating Black History Month by featuring a weekly menu inspired by recipes created by Black authors.\nThis week you can enjoy shrimp and grits with parmesan cheese\, bacon\, tomato\, scallions\, and cilantro\, inspired by Chef Nina Compton and Chef Bridgid Washington \nABOUT:\nNina Compton-James Beard award-winning St. Lucian chef who currently lives in New Orleans. She discovered her passion for Caribbean cooking watching her mom and granny at home. “Compton’s first restaurant\, Compère Lapin\, opened in mid-2015\, in a hotel in the city’s trendy Warehouse District in New Orleans\, showcasing the food of the Caribbean\, and of her native St. Lucia in particular: seafood pepper pot\, cow-heel soup\, jerk fish. Her dishes were threaded through with the islands’ smoke and spice and with the ambrosial sweetness of tropical fruit\, but they also borrowed freely from France and Italy\, the American South\, and from the flavors of New Orleans itself.”\nCookbook: Coconut.
